Amanda Johnston, PTA, M.Ed.
Welcome! This site includes helpful information for employers, students, and clients and exemplifies my passion for higher education, health and wellness, and diversity.
Throughout this site you will find sample written work and multimedia projects highlighting my higher education experience and social media links to assist in your quest of life long learning.
I will also reflect on my experiences that have brought me to where I am today including my experience living oversees, my training as a Pilates instructor, my educational opportunities, and my numerous encounters with students, patients, and colleagues throughout my education and career.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant and educator, I value diversity as we have much to learn from those around us and I thrive on empowering others to reach their full potential.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant and educator, I value diversity as we have much to learn from those around us and I thrive on empowering others to reach their full potential.
I use progressive treatment techniques to improve the mobility and life of my clients and offer teaching methods that are student centered to educate future Physical Therapist Assistants in evidence based practice.
As an administrator, I value program review and assessment techniques that will continue to advance my courses, program, and profession. I have actively participated in accreditation visits, been lead writer for program review, and lead department meetings to streamline our program policies and procedures.
In my role as Acting Program Director for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at San Diego Mesa College I enjoy teaching fundamental therapy techniques and seeing students develop empathy and the ability to apply critical thinking and knowledge to create successful treatment options. There is no better way to improve my community than to educate the future of the profession!
